Finally, Emery Said Goodbye To Arsenal
LONDON - Following a series of poor results suffered by Arsenal during the 2019-2020 season, the London club fired coach Unai Emery today, Friday, November 29.
Speaking on behalf of Arsenal's board and club owner, Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, Josh Kroenke announced the sacking of the Spanish coach via Arsenal's official website.
“Our most sincere thanks go to Unai and his team-mates who are endlessly working to get this club back into competition at the level we all hope and ask for. We wish Unai and his team success in the future, ”read the statement.
"The decision has been taken because (Emery's) results and performance are not at the level expected."

To replace Emery, Arsenal have appointed assistant coach Freddie Ljungberg as interim head coach.
"We have full confidence in Freddie to get us going."
The search for a new head coach for 'The Gunners' is ongoing and the club will make further announcements when that process is complete.
Arsenal suffered a 1-2 home defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt on the 5th matcday of the Europa League on Thursday evening. In the Premier League, Mesut Ozil et al have only won four of their 13 matches. Finally, they were held to a 2-2 draw by the relegation zone team Southampton.
