74th IBI Anniversary, Panadol Supports Education On Independent Medicine 1,000 Midwives

JAKARTA - In commemoration of the 74th Anniversary of the Indonesian Midwives Association (IBI), the midwives' free self-education and health checks and visitors in the city of Surabaya were held.

Collaboration with Panadol is a symbol of a sustainable partnership that has entered its second year, as well as affirming Panadol's long-term commitment to supporting health literacy and inclusive self-medication for the community.

The head of IBI, Dr. Ade Jubaedah, S.Sit, MM, MKM., said that as the front line in the health services of mothers and children, midwives have a unique and strategic position as a source of reliable information for mothers.

"For many families, midwives are the first place to ask questions and get directions about health. For this reason, access to the latest and sustainable knowledge is very important so that midwives can carry out their roles optimally. We welcome collaboration with Panadol which continues to support efforts to increase midwife capacity and expand the reach of health education that is inclusive in the community," said Dr. Ade Jubaedah.

In addition to providing direct services, the midwife also acts as an educational agent who bridges public access to safe medical information.

The role of midwives is actually much wider than many people think. Midwives not only accompany mothers during pregnancy and childbirth, but also become a place for people to seek daily health information. Because they are close to family and community, we often become a bridge between formal health services and real needs in the field.

Panadol believes that mothers, who generally become the main door to information about health for families, must be equipped with the right knowledge in dealing with general conditions such as fever in children. Therefore, support for midwives as a source of reliable information for mothers is so crucial that they are ready to disseminate health education that is responsible in their community.

I appreciate the existence of this program from Panadol. Training like this is very important so that we can continue to update our knowledge and carry out our role as family health assistants," said Siswati, Midwife at the Putri Hospital in Surabaya.
