People's School Principal Introduced AI Technology

JAKARTA - A total of 47 People's School Heads participating in the second phase of the retreat were introduced with artificial intelligence (AI) technology to detect potential students and teachers, as part of the preparation for the implementation of the People's School.

The Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos), Saifullah Yusuf, in the opening of the second phase of the People's School Principal at the Ministry of Social Education and Training Center building, Jakarta, explained that the technology was designed so that school principals could understand the specific advantages of students and teachers who would study and teach in People's Schools.

"They were introduced by AI to find out the potential of students and teachers to be led," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 2.

He said the People's School curriculum had been prepared and equipped with a special module that allowed students not to need academic tests, simply passed the administration and health checks.

"We get the AI technology and curriculum modules independently. The developers don't want to be paid, everyone is excited to help children from prosperous families," he said.

The second phase of the retreat took place for five days on July 2-7, 2025, namely three days at the South Jakarta Ministry of Social Affairs Education and Training Center and two days at the Arhanud 1/Faletehan Regiment.

The participants were state civil servants (ASN) from various regions who had experience leading educational institutions and were declared to have passed the selection to become the People's School Principal.

This school principal retreat program is an important part of the preparation of the People's School which is targeted to reach up to 20 thousand students from beneficiary families of the Beneficiary Family program (KPM) throughout Indonesia this year.

According to Saifullah, the People's School policy is affirmative, especially for the poorest groups who fall into the decile category 1 or 10 percent of the extreme poor. They must have potential, it's just that we don't know yet," he said.

Previously, the first stage of the retreat was held on June 16'20, 2025, followed by 52 school principals with the material for the introduction of the People's School concept, character strengthening, and disciplinary training.
