2 Bodies Of UGM Students Who Died In A Longboat Accident In Maluku Immediately Returned
AMBON - Head of the Ambon Search and Rescue Office (SAR), Maluku Muhamad Arafah, stated that the repatriation of the bodies of two students of Gajah Mada University (UGM) Yogyakarta who died as a result of a marine accident in the waters of Southeast Maluku was the responsibility of the families of the victims.
"The joint team has carried out SAR and evacuation operations until the bodies of two UGM students, namely Septian Eka Rahmadi and Bagus Adi Prayogoyang, carried out a real work study (KKN) in Maluku and died and were handed over to a hospital in Langgur," said Muhammad Arafah in Ambon, Wednesday, July 2, reported by ANTARA.
On Tuesday, (1/7), the Ambon Basarnas through the Tual SAR Post received information that one longboat with seven passengers capsized around the waters of the Southeast Maluku Wahr Island at around 14:07 WIT.
From the results of coordination, the team received information that the number of passengers initially reported was seven people being plated to 12 people, with details of 10 survivors, one person died and the other is still missing.
The joint SAR team with the local community then carried out a search operation for one other victim around the scene.
"At 23.00 WIT, another victim was found by elements of the community in a state of death, then evacuated by the joint SAR Team to the Karel Sadsuibun Hospital for further treatment," he said.
He explained that on Tuesday (1/7) the longboat departed from Debut Village to Wahr Island and capsized.
In the incident, it was reported that 10 people survived, one person died and another person was declared missing. After being reported and carried out SAR operations, the victim was found and has been evacuated to the hospital.
While the survivors were Daeren Sakti Hermanu, Muhammad Arva Sagraha, Ridwan Rahardian Wijaya, Afifudin Baliya Pratista Halimawan, Maikel Letsoin (28), Marvel Letsoin (26), Mikel Mipuka (27), Atin Letsoin (16), and Penus Letsoin (27).
