Sad News Comes From Sukabumi, Citizens Of Ciangkrek Hamlet Poisoned By Pindang Fish

JAKARTA - Six residents of Ciangkrek Hamlet, Mekarasih Village, Simpenan District, Sukabumi Regency, West Java, along with two-year-old twins, Repan and Repin, were poisoned after eating processed pindang fish on Tuesday, May 4.

"All the victims have been rushed to the Public Health Center Cibuntu, including the toddlers who have also become victims of this mass poisoning", Mekarasih Village Head Ujang Suryadi told reporters in Sukabumi, reported by Antara, Wednesday, May 5.

Until now, there have been 19 residents from Ciangkrek Hamlet, Sukabumi Regency, West Java, who experienced poisoning after eating the processed pindang fish, all of the victims experienced the same symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, and vomiting", said Ujang.

According to him, residents of Mekarasih Village, Simpenan Subdistrict, who were poisoned victims are currently receiving treatment at the Cibuntu Health Center, but if someone is in poor health condition, they will be referred to Palabuhanratu Hospital.

There were only six residents who complained of experiencing symptoms of poisoning, However, as of Wednesday morning, it continued to increase, and did not even rule out the possibility of other victims.

"Some of the victims had improved conditions, not only adults, children, and even toddlers were poisoned", he added.

As for the names of residents of Ciangkrek Hamlet who became victims of poisoning after eating processed pindang fish namely Revan, Revin, Adah, Kamaludin, Tedi, Citra, Abdul Ajid, Rizki, Iyah, Reza, Rizwan, Aida, Diki, Anin, Saropah, Deni, Rido, Penti and Rizal.

A number of other residents who saw the incident immediately helped and evacuated all victims to the nearest Public Health Center.

The majority of victims experienced the same symptoms. Cibuntu Health Center officers, police, and local health offices have taken samples of processed pindang fish which are suspected to be the cause of the mass poisoning.

Meanwhile Deri Abdulah, Head of General and Administration of Mekarasih Village, said that his party had recorded eight residents who had symptoms of poisoning.
