Palace: Danantara Becomes Prabowo's Diplomacy Magnet Abroad
Spokesperson for the President of the Republic of Indonesia and Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said President Prabowo Subianto was always asked about Danantara by the leaders of friendly countries that were the destination for President of the Republic of Indonesia's overseas visit.
Prasetyo assessed that friendly countries showed their interest in the Danantara, considering that discussions about the Danantara were often not included in the agenda, but were often discussed.
"As far as I know, every visit of the President, it is the leaders of these friendly countries who always discuss the Danantara first," said Prasetyo Hadid, followed by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 2.
Prasetyo continued that his interest in Danantara was probably caused by funds managed by Indonesia's sovereign wealth fund which was relatively large.
"For friends of friendly countries, (it's) an extraordinary investment. In a short time, Indonesia had a sovereign wealth fund with assets under management (Dantara) which reached 1,000 billion US Dollars," said Prasetyo Hadi.
President Prabowo on Tuesday afternoon began his visit to several countries, including Saudi Arabia and Brazil for the next nearly 2 weeks. In his official visit to several countries, President Prabowo is scheduled to meet with friendly leaders, and discuss cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, and other strategic sectors.
The Anagata Nusantara Daya Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara) was launched by President Prabowo Subianto on February 24, 2025. The investment management agency, led by Rosan Perkasa Roeslani as CEO, oversees more than 800 SOEs and their derivative companies.
