European Union Asks Iran To Continue Negotiation Of Nuclear Program

JAKARTA - Iran was again encouraged to continue negotiations on the nuclear program after the Iranian-Israel war ceasefire.

But Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi alluded to the "destructive approach" from several European countries.

Araghchi criticized the stance of several European countries on the recent air war between Israel and Iran, saying the countries supported Israel and the United States. He did not mention which country he was referring to.

Araghchi's statement was made in a phone call with the Head of the European Union's Foreign Policy Office Kaja Kallas.

Kallas said after the phone call, negotiations to end Iran's nuclear program must restart as soon as possible.

In a post on social media platform X, the EU's top diplomat said cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency should continue. Kallas emphasized that the European Union is ready to facilitate it.

"Any threat to withdraw from a non-proliferation agreement does not help ease tensions," he said.
