Minister Of Manpower Yassierli Admits The Level Of Productivity Of Indonesian Workers Is Still Low, Here's The Proof
CIKARANG - Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Yassierli said the level of productivity of Indonesia's workers was lagging behind neighboring countries in Southeast Asia (ASEAN).
This was conveyed by Yassierli when met by the media crew after attending a Seminar and Networking event entitled Career Connect 2025: Networking Motivation in Jababeka Industrial Estate, Cikarang, West Java, Tuesday, July 1.
"Our productivity level (power) is still low, 10 percent of the Asean state average," said Yassierli.
Yassierli does not deny that the level of workforce productivity is still a major problem that must be resolved immediately.
The reason, he said, is that currently the availability of jobs is quite a lot, but most of the workforce has not met the competency standards desired by the company.
"Research also shows that the industry then requires certain competencies, including hard skills and soft skills. However, they have not found the right candidate," he said.
Even so, Yassierli believes that government strategic programs, such as downstreaming, red and white village cooperatives to free nutritious food (MBG) can create jobs.
"I want to say we must be optimistic. The President (Prabowo Subianto) said that all government programs with the number one goal are job creation, the second is to increase the nation's productivity," he said.
