Taking The Airport Train From BNI City Staisun To Soetta Is Now Only 39 Minutes
JAKARTA - PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia or KAI Commuter continues to improve the quality of the Commuter Line Basoetta service. Now, the travel time for Commuter Line Basoetta to Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Soetta) from BNI City Station or vice versa is only 39 minutes.
The President Director of KAI Commuter, Asdo Artriviyanto, said that the increase in the operational speed of Commuter Line Basoetta had an impact on the train's travel time to Soetta Airport.
Asdo said KAI Commuter together with KAI Daop 1 Jakarta and DJKA Ministry of Transportation had also conducted trials of increasing the travel speed of Commuter Line Basoetta.
He said this speed increase increased to 90 km per hour on the Duri Batu Ceper route, from previously only 75 km per hour. In addition, the increase in speed in Tanah Abang-Duri routes from 50 Km per hour to 80 Km per hour and the BNI City-Tanah Abang route to 70 Km per hour.
"This speed increase is also a target to be able to serve around 20 percent or 10 million people from total aircraft users at Soekarno-Hatta Airport every year," said Asdo in Jakarta, Tuesday, July 2.
With this speed increase, continued Asdo, the travel time for Commuter Line Basoetta to the airport is currently 10 minutes faster than the previous 49 minutes to 39 minutes.
"Furthermore, it will be pursued in stages so that the travel time becomes 30 minutes," he said.

On the other hand, Asdo also said that with this increase in speed, all road users who will cross the Commuter Line Basoetta route are encouraged to be more disciplined.
Currently, continued Asdo, there are still 41 crossings, consisting of 18 official crossings and 23 unofficial crossings, which are a challenge in ensuring the safety of train travel in the cross section.
"To overcome these challenges, close collaboration with various parties is needed, including support from local and central governments," he said.
