Minister Of Environment Appreciates Jababeka Industrial Estate For Trying To Maintain A Clean Environment

JAKARTA - Minister of Environment (LH)/Head of the Environmental Control Agency (BPLH) Hanif Faisol Nurofiq inspected the Jababeka Industrial Estate in Cikarang, West Java, today.

In his review, Hanif also listened to a number of efforts made by the Jababeka Industrial Estate to manage the environment to stay clean.

These efforts go through several innovations, such as digital environmental monitoring; installation of AQMS; use of solar energy for Water Treatment Plant (WTP); revitalization of WWTP with Integrated Fixed-film Active Sludge (IFAS) technology to biodiversity activities.

With these various efforts, the Jababeka Industrial Estate can also achieve the Green PROPER in a row.

"I really appreciate Jababeka achieving the Green PROPER in a row," said Hanif in his statement, Monday, June 30.

Moreover, Jababeka is currently experiencing a transformation from an industrial area to a modern and independent city, integrated between industrial centers, residences, educational facilities, commercial health, sports, recreation (tourism) which emphasizes the quality of life through the provision of infrastructure and a comfortable and sustainable environment.

According to Hanif, Jababeka is the only industrial area that can achieve the Green PROPER.

"Because the industrial area itself is quite difficult, yes, it can achieve a Green PROPER," he said.

Even so, Hanif said, synergy and good cooperation are needed to create a cleaner environment. Therefore, in principle, the initiative to form a kind of joint desk between the Ministry of Environment and the management of industrial estates is approved to bring services closer.

Meanwhile, President Director of PT Jababeka Infrastruktur Didik Purbadi said that his party would try to carry out a number of innovations so that the environment in the area would remain clean in the future.

In fact, Didik hopes that the Ministry of Environment and Forestry can facilitate the formation of an environmental research center at President University, which has the Facilities of Environmental Engineering to continue collaborating with industrial companies, both in Jababeka and nationally.

"We will try in 2025 to get the Green PROPER back three times in a row. And with the innovations we have made, we are ready to become a national model for sustainable industrial estates," he said.

For your information, the Minister of Environment and Forestry will make working visits to several companies within the Jababeka Industrial Estate for the next two weeks.

The working visit aims to conduct socialization and field verification in coaching and obedience in environmental management regulations to all tenants in the Jababeka Industrial Estate.
