Muter-muter Jakarta, Minister Of Environment And Forestry Supervises Garbage Supporting RDF Rorotan

JAKARTA - Minister of Environment (LH) Hanif Faisol Nurofiq will tour a number of points in North Jakarta, Central Jakarta, and East Jakarta, to oversee waste management to support Rorotan's Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) operations.

Hanif expressed his appreciation for the waste management efforts that have been carried out by residents of RW 03 Cempaka Putih Timur, including by sorting organic and inorganic waste, and wants this practice to be imitated by other regions including North Jakarta which is a pilot project or a national pilot project for waste management.

"We have agreed to the Governor (DKI Jakarta), we will visit North Jakarta, Central Jakarta and East Jakarta every day, which are coverage areas of the Rorotan RDF," said Hanif in a review of the Cempaka Putih Timur area, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, July 1, which was confiscated by Antara.

This step was taken to ensure the operation of the Rorotan RDF facility in North Jakarta which is projected to be able to process 2,500 tons of waste per day. The facility itself is projected to start last year, but still has not been implemented until now because of the trial that caused the smell of getting protests from the local community.

Minister LH Hanif highlighted that one of the odors caused is the use of mixed waste between organic and inorganic, so that sorting waste for materials is one of the important steps that needs to be taken.

"We hope that if all of these can be boosted by friends in North Jakarta, Central Jakarta in part, East Jakarta in part, then RDF Rorotan will be operational. Whatever he says, the Minister is chasing RDE Rorotan, it must be operationalized," he said.

Previously he asked the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to start operating RDF Rorotan this July. A statement from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government previously stated that the waste management facility could only operate in September 2025.
