KPK Reveals The Value Of BRI EDC Procurement Projects Corrupted Reaches IDR 2.1 Trillion

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating allegations of corruption in the procurement of EDC machines at Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) or BBRI. The project has a budget of trillions of rupiah.

"The project value is around Rp. 2.1 trillion," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo to reporters at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, June 30.

Budi said the procurement took place in 2020-2024. But he has not been able to convey how much loss the state has caused due to this reckless practice.

"Not yet (can be conveyed, red). We will convey in full what the construction of the case looks like, including the alleged state loss," he said.

As for investigating the alleged corruption, 13 people have been prevented from leaving the country for six months since Thursday, June 26. This prevention can be extended according to the needs of investigators.

In addition, the KPK has also searched two BRI offices in the Jalan Sudirman and Gatot Soebroto areas, Jakarta. From these forced attempts, investigators confiscated a number of evidences, including financial records.

Then investigators have also examined the former Deputy President Director of BRI Catur Budi Harto on Thursday, June 26. He was questioned at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta from 09.45 to 12.15 WIB.

Previously reported, Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Fitroh Rochahyanto confirmed that his party was investigating allegations of corruption at BRI or BBRI. It is suspected that there has been a corrupt practice related to the procurement of Electronic Data Capture (EDC) machines which functions to process payment transactions electronically.

"The investigation into the alleged corruption related to EDC procurement," said Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Fitroh Rochahyanto to reporters in a written statement, Thursday, June 26.

Fitroh has not specified the state's losses or the number of suspects in this case.

Meanwhile, a VOI source said that from the information on the investigation of the BRI Bank case, it used a general investigation warrant (sprindik). This means that no suspects have been named in this case.
