Held Again In Bali, AXEAN Festival 2025 Announces First Phase Lineup

JAKARTA - The AXEAN Festival will be held for the second time in Bali. The event, which is intended as a music and creative industry platform in Southeast Asia, will last for two days at Jimbaran Hub, September 13 and 14.

For this year's edition, AXEAN promises a row of dynamical and eclectic musicians, reflecting a variety of genres, cultures and musical styles from all over Southeast Asia.

Organizers have also announced the first phase of line-up, including alternative rock band Jangar from Bali, trio rock psychedelic Rocket Flying Group, indie Ministry Of rock quartet, six L\alpha musicians, and producers and singers. XANDEGA song.

In addition to the performers from Indonesia above, it has also been confirmed that the presence of musicians from other countries, such as the pioneer of the music for the DJ Love budots and the alt-rock group One Click Straight from the Philippines; dark pop artist Su San from Malaysia; indie songwriters and musicians and electronic producer Fauxe from Singapore; and the RAve n' roll experiment of SOE as well as the alt rock band consisting of four DOOR PLANTs from Thailand.

"The following are Southeast Asian musicians who we feel are ready to penetrate the regional and international markets," said David Siow, co-founder of the AXEAN Festival, in a press release to VOI, Monday, June 30.

"Many of these musicians already have a lot of local followers, and we are here to connect these points globally," added David.

In addition, Puppeter Muenprasertdee who is also one of the founders of the AXEAN Festival said this year's edition will introduce the SEA Showcase Club, a special stage that highlights the electronic music and club genres born around us who are ready to be exported and slowly find their echoes around the world.

"This year, we want to introduce an artist who combines local sound and cultural texture in electronic form, which is a genre that gets serious international attraction," said Piyapong.

"We see this not only as a trend but as a powerful vehicle to show off our regional identity in a new and exciting way, in addition to the various local music spectra we continue to fight for."

As for the line-up selection, Piyapong explained that his curation progress places a strong emphasis on professionalism, the impact of direct performances, and artistic vision.

"Ready to export is a key principle in the way we curate musicians for AXEAN. However, that doesn't mean just choosing musicians who are already popular overseas or those who sing in perfect English. It's about choosing musicians who are professionally ready to navigate the current global music industry in an artistic, logistical and mental way, he said. I believe genres will never be a barrier if you can find the right market, the right niche, the right community that is truly connected to your voice. In line with the philosophy that prioritizes musicians, the 2025 AXEAN Festival will feature Music Conference and Songwriting Camp, designed to create meaningful opportunities for cross-border dialogue, collaboration, and industrial partnerships.

The conference includes discussions of curated panels, business meetings, and structured networks between regional and international delegates.

Meanwhile, the Songwriting Camp for four days which was held ahead of the main festival, invited selected musicians and producers to be creative in a collaborative and cross-cultural environment.
