Mentereng's Experience Brings Rahmad Darmawan To Become Indonesia All Star Coach In The 2025 President's Cup

JAKARTA - Rahmad Darmawan has been officially appointed as the coach of the Indonesia All Star team who will appear in the 2025 Presidential Cup. He was chosen because he saw his flashy track record in the world of national football.

Throughout his training career, Rahmad has held a number of clubs by winning the Indonesian League with Sriwijaya FC and Persipura Jayapura.

In addition to the two clubs, he also had time to investigate Persikota Tangerang, Persija Jakarta, Arema, Mitra Kukar, Tira Persikabo, Madura United, Rans Cilegon, and Barito Putera.

Not only that, Rahmad once managed a Malaysian club, T-Team. The figure who is called RD also had time to puzzle the U-23 Indonesian national team and was able to present two silver medals at the 2011 and 2013 SEA Games.

"Coach RD was chosen because he has a good reputation in Indonesian football. He is also a former player and coach of the Indonesian national team. He has also brought the club to win the Indonesian League."

"He has a long experience coaching Indonesian clubs and even abroad. RD coaches also have enough coaching licenses to handle professional clubs at the highest level," said Chairman of the 2025 Presidential Cup Organizing Committee (OC), Arya Sinulingga.

The 2025 President's Cup will be held on July 6-13, 2025 as a pre-season tournament ahead of Liga 1 2025/2026. This event took place in two places, namely the Jakarta Gelora Bung Karno (SUGBK) Main Stadium which was used for the opening match and Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung.

There are six contestants participating in the 2025 President's Cup. Group A is inhabited by Indonesia All Stars, Arema FC, and a team from England, Oxford United. While Group B is filled with Persib Bandung, Dewa United FC, and a club from Thailand, Port FC.
