Alleged False Certificates At MRT Jakarta, Observers Ask For Open Investigation And System Improvement
JAKARTA - Jakarta Veterans UPN Public Policy Economist and Expert Achmad Nur Hidayat also highlighted the alleged use of fake diplomas by one of the Jakarta MRT employees.
According to him, this case raises serious questions regarding the integrity and governance of human resources in this strategic BUMD.
"How is it possible that the recruitment process as strict as the MRT is missed in verifying employee diplomas? If true, this is not only an administrative matter, but a violation of the law and ethics that threatens the reputation of the MRT as modern public transportation," told VOI, Sunday, June 29.
Achmad said that there are strategic steps that the Jakarta MRT needs to take immediately, namely completing a thorough internal investigation and announcing the results transparently to the public because this is important because the public as users and taxpayers are entitled to know the truth of the case.
He added that the second step was to re-examine the authenticity of the diplomas of all employees, especially those occupying strategic and technical positions, in order to prevent similar cases from recurring.
"Third, improve the recruitment system by verifying digital to DIKTI through SIVIL, not just receiving photocopies of diplomas," he said.
Furthermore, he conveyed that MRT Jakarta also needs to uphold integrity as the main requirement in the recruitment process and promotion of positions, because competence without integrity will only be a potential moral hazard in the future.

"Fifth, carry out honest, firm, and empathic public communication, don't wait for the issue to grow and destroy the reputation of the institution," he said.
He emphasized that the reputation of the institution is not built only from magnificent infrastructure, but from public trust in the professionalism and honesty of its managers.
"If MRT Jakarta fails to handle it quickly and openly, then investment in trillions of rupiah will be in vain because the loss of public trust is the biggest loss of any public transportation," he said.
