BMKG: Rain And Cloudy Weather Dominate Big Cities In Indonesia Today
JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that weather conditions in a number of major cities in Indonesia, Monday, June 30, will generally experience rain and thick clouds.
"On the island of Java, light rain has the potential to be in Jakarta. Meanwhile, Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya have the potential to be thick cloudy," said BMKG forecaster Indah Fitrianti in a weather forecast broadcast in Jakarta.
As for the Sumatra region, areas that have the potential to receive light rain are Pekanbaru, Bengkulu, Palembang, and Bandar Lampung. Meanwhile, Aceh, Medan, Padang, Tanjung Pinang, Jambi, and Pangkal Pinang have the potential to be thick cloudy.
"For Denpasar, Kupang, and Mataram cities, it is predicted to be cloudy," he said.
Furthermore, he said, on the island of Kalimantan, which has the potential for heavy rain accompanied by lightning, namely Tanjung Selor and Palangkaraya. Meanwhile, Pontianak and Banjarmasin have the potential to be cloudy, while Samarinda is forecasted for light rain.
Moving to the Sulawesi area, he continued, the cities of Mamuju and Kendari have the potential for heavy rain accompanied by lightning. Gorontalo, Manado, and Makassar are predicted to have light rain, while Palu air escapes.
