Kejari Kuansing Will Uncover Alleged Corruption In The Three Pillars Project

JAKARTA - The Public Prosecutor's Office of Kuantan Singingi Regency (Kuansing), Riau Province, promised to dismantle and conduct investigations on a number of people in the construction project of a traditional market, hotel and the Islamic University of Kuantan Singingi, known as the Tiga Pilar Project, which is suspected of being laden with corruption.

Head of the State Prosecutor's Office (Kajari) Kuansing Hadiman through the Head of the Special Crimes Section (Kasi Pidsus) Imam Hidayat said that one by one the suspected corruption cases will be investigated and there are already three suspects in the billion rupiah project.

The three suspects consist of two officials at the Job Creation and Spatial Planning Office, Fahrudin and Alfion Hendra, and one private party, namely the Director of PT Betania Prima.

"Investigators will not be selective in handling a number of cases of suspected corruption," said Imam in Teluk Kuantan, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, May 4.

According to him, eradicating corruption is a national agenda and is a program of the Attorney General's Office and President Joko Widodo's administration. Likewise with the National Prosecutor's Office which is committed to minimizing fraudulent practices that are detrimental to the state.

The construction of the three building project known as the Tiga Pilar has cost a lot of money, but until now it has not been optimally utilized by the community.

The project, which is considered a Kuansing icon, shows that there are still abandoned buildings, such as hotels, modern markets and the campus of the Islamic University of Kuantan Singingi.

"Therefore, it needs to be addressed, examined the possibility of corruption in it," said Imam.

The three-pillar project located in Central Kuantan District was built using the Kuansing APBD funds in 2015. This project consists of the Kuansing Hotel building, the Kuansing Islamic University (Uniks) campus, and a modern-based traditional market, but the building is still stalled.

Of the three three pillar projects, a modern traditional-based market that has been functioning and benefited by the community, while hotels and the Uniks campus are still neglected.

"We promise to finish investigating this case," said Imam Hidayat.
