Archbishop Of Semarang: Disbursed 100 Percent Of Catholics, 100 Percent Of Indonesia

SEMARANG - The Archbishop of Semarang, Mgr. Robertus Rubiyatmoko, invites Catholics to make the Church an inclusive, inspiring face, and bring benefits to the entire community, without exception.

This was conveyed by Mgr. Rubiyatmoko in commemoration of the 85th Anniversary (HUT) of the Semarang Archdiocese which was held at the Jatidiri Stadium, Semarang, Central Java, Sunday, June 29.

"Spread the spirit of 100 percent Catholic, 100 percent Indonesian," said Mgr. Rubiyatmoko in his sermon in front of tens of thousands of Catholics from various regions in Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta, quoted from Antara.

According to him, this spirit must be manifested in concrete actions through active involvement in social life. He emphasized the importance of spreading the values of love and justice in everyday life.

"Wujudkan dan wartakan civilization kasih," lanjutnya.

Mgr. Rubiyatmoko also reminded that the challenges ahead are not easy. The issue of intolerance, violence, and social inequality is still a homework together.

He invited the Church to be present as a carrier of hope by fostering a culture of dialogue, love, and justice.

"The church must be a blessing, not only for Catholics, but also for the entire community, nation and state," he said.

The celebration of the 85th Anniversary of the Archdiocese of Semarang raised the theme "Together on Pilgrimage, Sharing Blessings". This theme, said Mgr. Rubiyatmoko, is a reflection of the long journey of the Church which continues to advance, but still steps on the values of spirituality and service.

The series of Anniversary events began in the morning with a defile of representatives of the people from 109 parishes who are members of the Archdiocese of Semarang. The peak is the grand mass which takes place solemnly and full of togetherness.

The selection of the Jatidiri Stadium as a celebration location is not without reason. This place has historical ties to the Diocese, because it was once the location for the tahbisan of two Semarang Archbishops.

"Stadion Jatidiri adalah bagian dari sejarah Gereja kita. Tempat ini menjadi simbol keberagaman dan kebanggaan umat," kata Mgr. Rubiyatmoko.

"The Jatidiri Stadium is part of the history of our Church. This place is a symbol of the diversity and pride of the people," said Mgr. Rubiyatmoko.
