Jakarta-Tangerang Toll Flood Due To Overflow Of Sabi River

TANGERANG REGENCY - Senior Manager Representative Office 2 Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad Ginanjar Bekti revealed that the flood that inundated at kilometer (KM) 24 on Saturday (28/6) afternoon was due to the overflow of the Sabi Tangerang river.

"It was observed that puddles covered parts of the Jakarta-Tangerang Toll Road, precisely at KM 24 on both routes, both towards Jakarta and Tangerang," said Bekti when confirmed in Tangerang, Saturday.

He explained, due to the overflow of water from the Sabi river flow, the traffic flow on the Jakarta-Merak Toll Road, precisely at KM 24 towards Bitung, Tangerang, experienced severe congestion.

However, as the rain and overflowing water hit the area subsided, traffic flow returned to normal.

"This puddle was caused by the overflow of the Sabi river which was allegedly due to high rainfall in the Tangerang area since 14.00 WIB," he said.

Until now, he continued, puddles of water on the toll road have been observed covering the outer shoulder, lanes 1 2, 3 and 4. And only lane 4 can still be crossed.

"Officers make traffic arrangements and appeals in the field to anticipate vehicle disturbances due to being hit by puddles," he said.

In this case, his party and related stakeholders continue to accelerate the handling of inundation and coordinate with related parties to make the necessary efforts.

"Currently, two portable pumps (Alkon) have been operated to reduce water discharge and one mobile pump is being deployed to the location," he said.

Meanwhile, to reduce density, the police directed small vehicles to exit via the Karawaci offramp.

"Jasa Marga apologizes for the inconvenience experienced. Road users are advised to arrange travel routes and temporarily avoid inundation locations to reduce congestion," he said. - A number of vehicles exiting the Tangerang-Jakarta toll road through the Bitung toll gate due to flooding that hit the area.
