Bernardo Silva: One Of The Biggest Honors To Be Manchester City's Captain
Bernardo Silva said being appointed captain of Manchester City was one of the greatest honors of his career.
Pep Guardiola decided to choose his own captain for the first time after revealing things he didn't like with the leadership of the 2024/2025 season team.
Bernardo Silva was chosen to wear Portugal's captain and international armband talking about the privilege of leading Manchester City.
"It's probably one of the greatest honors of my career. I'm going to start my ninth season at the club. We're going through a lot of fantastic moments and some disappointment."
"All those experiences, I will try to pass it on to the younger players. However, leadership in a team, not about one person."

"It's not about me, it's not about the last captain, or captain two or three or four years ago."
"It's about each of us becoming our own leaders and helping the people next to us in the dressing room," Silva said.
Silva has taken over as captain of the club from Kyle Walker, who left Manchester City to join AC Milan on loan in January 2025.
Although the Rossoneri decided not to make the deal permanent, Guardiola decided not to include the England full-back in his squad for the 2025 Club World Cup.
The Citizens manager has also appointed Rodri, Ruben Dias, and Erling Haaland as Silva's representatives, with other names to be added before the start of the Premier League season in August 2025.
"I rely on Ruben, Rodri, Erling, and everyone to help me. You see, I'm going to need that help to help the team achieve a lot of things and hopefully win the title," Silva said.
