Kylian Mbappe Sues PSG For Moral Harassment
JAKARTA - Kylian Mbappe, who rarely gets the spotlight at the 2025 Club World Cup because he hasn't played a single game, has finally entered the news.
It's not about the action with the ball, but the story off the pitch. The Paris Prosecutor's Office confirmed on Thursday, June 26, 2025, local time that in a lawsuit, Mbappe accused Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) of moral harassment.
The Real Madrid star clashed with PSG, arguing the Ligue 1 owed him 55 million euros (61 million US dollars) in unpaid wages.
Mbappe was also unhappy with the way the Ligue 1 club treated him when he was ruled out before the 2023/2024 season, following his decision not to extend the contract.
The Paris Prosecutor's Office said Mbappe criticized the seizure he claimed had taken at Paris Saint-Germain.

The word 'trade' is used in France to describe practices involving isolation or removing players from the main squad for sports, administrative, or disciplinary reasons.
Mbappe joined Real Madrid last summer on a free transfer after setting a club record of 256 goals in seven years at PSG, which won the Champions League without him in the 2024/2025 season.
Mbappe's relationship with PSG ended amid deep tensions. Some supporters ridiculed him in the last home game at the Parc des Princes.
PSG felt let down by Mbappe after offering him the most lucrative contract in the club's history when he signed a contract in 2022.
However, Mbappe was reportedly frustrated that he felt the promise to recruit key players was not kept. When he signed the contract in 2022, he was paraded in front of the fans holding a T-shirt that reads '2025'.
Mbappe was reportedly upset because his contract was only until 2024 - with the option of a one-season extension.
Mbappe surprised PSG in June 2023 by telling the club he would not be taking the option for another year.
With his contract almost reaching the last year, PSG was forced to sell Mbappe's contract so as not to lose him for free when his contract expired.
His career at PSG could end in the summer of 2023 amid a tense transfer deadlock.
After telling the club he would not renew his contract, Mbappe was expelled from the squad for a pre-season tour to Japan and South Korea.
In addition, he was forced to train outside the first team. PSG said they would rather move him than let him go for free by mid-2024, but he refused a 300 million euro (351.4 million US dollars) move to Saudi Arabia's Pro League club, Al Hilal.
PSG then did not include Mbappe in the opening league match of the 2023/2024 season, but he immediately returned to the line-up after negotiating with the club.
Mbappe's legal team said in April 2025 that they would take action against PSG over abuse for the way he was treated at the time.
