Conflict In The Middle East Is Getting More Conducive, Garuda Indonesia Reopens Jakarta-Doha Flights

JAKARTA - Garuda Indonesia's national airline has reopened flight services for the Jakarta-Doha route in line with the opening of Qatar airspace which was affected by the escalation of conflicts in the Middle East.

With the opening of the Jakarta-Doha round-trip route (PP) starting on Saturday (28/6), it is the result of a comprehensive assessment and intensive coordination between Garuda Indonesia and Qatar Airways as operational partners.

"This is supported by information from cross-border relevant authorities. This decision also takes into account the development of regional geopolitical conditions in the Middle East airspace which now shows a increasingly conducive situation," said Garuda Indonesia Operations Director, Tumpal M Hutapea in a written statement received in Tangerang, Saturday.

According to him, until now a number of other international airlines have also started serving flights to the Qatar region.

Thus, Garuda Indonesia will continue to monitor the development of the situation carefully and intensively with the relevant aviation authorities, in order to ensure the maintenance of flight security in the operation of this route.

"This is done together with aviation authorities in Indonesia and Qatar, as well as with Qatar Airways," he said.

He said intensive supervision of flight activities to the Middle East was carried out to ensure that the implementation of service recovery could run optimally.

Garuda Indonesia urges all passengers who will travel from and to Doha to periodically check flight status through Garuda's official information channel.

" Garuda passengers can seek information through websites, mobile applications, or by contacting Garuda Indonesia 24-hour Contact Center at 0804 1 807 807 (domestic) or +62 21 2351 9999 (international)," he said.
