Polda Asks Jakarta Tourist Attractions To Be Closed During Eid, Here's The Deputy Governor's Response
JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria responded to the suggestion from the Jakarta Police that tourist attractions in the capital be closed during the Eid holidays.
Riza said that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has not decided to close or allow tourist attractions to operate during the Eid Al-Fitr 1442 Hijriah.
"We will see later, whether it is closed or opened during Eid. We will see if it will be closed or opened with restrictions or something else, we will decide immediately," said Riza at the City Hall of DKI, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, May 4.
Riza said that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will ask for considerations from various parties before deciding. According to Riza, everything that is coordinated is the best decision.
"All decisions taken by the provincial government listened to the experts, epidemiologists, forkopimda, and the central government. Surely all good proposals will become our common consideration," he said.
Previously, Polda Metro Jaya asked the DKI Jakarta Tourism Office to close tourist attractions during the Eid holiday. Because, public interest is still high for a vacation after going home is prohibited. It is feared that the transmission of COVID-19 cases is increasing.
"We ask for a decision from the Tourism Office, if possible, just like last year, just closed it," said Head of the Polda Metro Jaya Operations Bureau Kombes Marsudianto.
However, continued Marsudianto, his party was still waiting for the policy from the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno. Especially to prevent the accumulation of visitors at tourist attractions.
"But if the Minister of Tourism may have other policies, of course we will adjust and we will make further arrangements," he said.
