Commission V Of The House Of Representatives (DPR) Urges For Land Acquisition To Be Accelerated For The Speed Of The Harbor Road II Toll Road

JAKARTA - Chairman of Commission V DPR RI Lasarus asked the government and related institutions to work together to complete land acquisition for the Harbour Road II Toll Road construction project.

This was conveyed by Lasarus during the working visit of Commission V of the DPR RI to the Harbour Road II toll road, Thursday (26/6). According to him, the completion of the toll road construction is very much needed to unravel congestion in the Tanjung Priok area, Jakarta. "If the construction work actually goes well. There is only one problem here, related to land acquisition. This must be our common concern. The central government through BPN, DKI Provincial Government, to the PUPR Ministry must sit together to resolve this issue," Lasarus said as quoted from ANTARA, Friday, June 27. He explained that there are several land points that are still inhabited by residents, including illegal settlements. For this reason, land acquisition completion needs an approach that is not only legal-formal, but also social and humanitarian. There are still some points where there are illegal settlements. We certainly hope that control is carried out with a humanist approach. They are also citizens, maybe living in limitations. Land acquisition must be carried out in good ways,' said Lasarus.

He also asked people who occupy land without rights to be aware of their legal position. He appealed to the existence of healthy two-way communication between government officials and affected communities. "There must be a good desire from both parties. If it is not their right, the public must also realize, but the government should also not be arbitrary. We must help, we must think about the fate," he said. Commission V DPR RI, said Lasarus, will continue to oversee this project and be committed to ensuring that every infrastructure development is carried out fairly, not only pursuing technical targets, but also paying attention to social aspects in the field. "We want this toll road to be completed quickly because Tanjung Priok is a crucial point in the flow of national logistics, but must be completed in a right, fair and civilized way," he said.
