COVID-19 Update As Of May 4: New 4,369 Cases, Accumulated 1,686,373 Cases
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 75,885 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 4,369 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 1,686,373 people and 99,087 active cases", the Ministry of Health was saying, Tuesday, May 4.
Today's cases increased by 5,658 so that a total of 1,541,149 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 188 people and the total was 46,137 people.
The province with the newest cases is in West Java with 912 cases and a total of 283,923 cases. Followed by Riau, which has 483 new cases with a total of 411,157 cases. DKI Jakarta has 416 new cases and a total of 185,151 cases. Then, Central Java has 375 new cases and a total of 45,578 cases.
The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to West Java with an increase of 1,385 recovered cases. Followed by Central Java with an additional 668 recovered cases, DKI Jakarta with an additional 586 recovered cases, and Riau with an additional 331 recovered cases.
Two provinces reported no new cases as of today. The provinces that reported zero new cases were West Sulawesi and Maluku.
In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigen reached 14,846,698.
"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 17.45 percent", he wrote.
For the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 77,804 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.
Furthermore, currently, 12,672,864 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 7,981,055 vaccination against the second dose. Meanwhile, the total target of vaccination stages 1 and 2 reached 40,349,051 people.
