Want To Solve Illegal Parking Problems, DKI Provincial Government Collaborates With Various Stakeholders
JAKARTA - The Provincial Government (Pemprov) of DKI Jakarta will coordinate with various stakeholders (stakeholders) to resolve the problem of illegal parking in DKI Jakarta.
Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo in a statement in Jakarta, Friday, June 27, said that one of his efforts was to approach regional managers to optimize parking rates in accordance with applicable regulations.
He gave an example, the reduction in parking rates per day from Rp. 4,000 to 5,000 per day to Rp. 2,000 in the campus area near Jalan Kyai Tapa, Jakarta made motorized vehicle drivers want to park their vehicles on campus.
"On Jalan Kyai Tapa, previously there were many motorbikes parked on the sidewalk. After we took an approach, the parking fee from Rp. 4,000 to 5,000 per day was lowered to Rp. 2,000. This made motorists want to park inside the campus area," explained Syafrin, quoted by Antara.
He then stated that the parking sector is currently focused on controlling traffic, so it is no longer a source of Regional Original Revenue (PAD) for the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.
"Parking is no longer an instrument for PAD. Therefore, of the 440 roads that have been set to be allowed to park, currently only 244 segments can be implemented to park on the road," said Syafrin.
Therefore, he appealed to the public to park their vehicles in the places that were already available, so that they would no longer park carelessly in order to maintain traffic order.
Meanwhile, the Parking Special Committee (Pansus) of the DKI Jakarta Provincial DPRD is committed to resolving a number of parking management problems.
One of the things that was done was to revise Regional Regulation (Perda) Number 5 of 2012 concerning Parking.
Chairman of the Parking Special Committee of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Jupiter, said that the revision of the regional regulation was to reinforce a regulation regarding management in a number of parking locations.
This is considering that there are still many public facilities that are used to park vehicles illegally.
"The change in the regional regulation will regulate how illegal parking is carried out by collecting prices that do not meet the tariff," said Jupiter.

That way, continued Jupiter, the Special Committee will focus on revising a number of regulations in DKI Jakarta Regional Regulation (Perda) Number 5 of 2012 concerning Parking.
Then, revise DKI Jakarta Governor Regulation (Pergub) Number 31 of 2017 concerning Parking Service Tariffs, Fines for Transaction Violations and Costs of Companies / Transfer of Motorized Vehicles.
On that occasion, he stressed the need to involve the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) and the police to take direct action against the perpetrators of illegal parking.
The illegal fire is a criminal act that must be included in the regional regulation. They (officials) have the power of the law to carry out more comprehensive enforcement," he said.
