Gerindra Asks The KPK To Be Transparent: Novel Baswedan Has Graduated From The Police Academy, Why Did He Not Pass The National Insight?

JAKARTA - Member of Commission III of the House of Representatives, Habiburokhman, encouraged the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to reveal the results of the national insight test as a condition for transferring the status of KPK employees to State Civil Servants (ASN), in a transparent manner.

This is because several KPK employees, including KPK investigator Novel Baswedan, reportedly did not pass the test.

"We encourage the test results to be transparent. Just like in the past when I did not pass even though I was as smart as entering college. If you do not pass, you will announce your score at this level in this course, this course is like this", said Habiburokhman at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, May 4.

The Gerindra politician admitted that he was surprised if Novel could not pass the national insight test. Because, from his background, he believed that the senior investigator was able to pass the test.

"Mr. Novel is a Police Academy alumni. I think when he entered the Police Academy there was a tiered education, there was a perception that maybe it had been followed. But how come it seems difficult if you don't pass", he said.

Habiburokhman said he would wait for an official statement from the anti-graft agency. Moreover, he said, Commission III of the House of Representatives would hold a meeting with the KPK to question the reasons for Novel's failure to pass.

"There will definitely be a meeting with the KPK when the trial period ends tomorrow. We want to ask about the test", said Habiburokhman.

Previously reported, the KPK is working with the State Personnel Agency (BKN) to conduct an assessment of national insight for its employees.

It's just that recently it was reported that several employees did not qualify so they were said to be fired. One of them was rumored to be a senior investigator for Novel Baswedan.

Responding to this, KPK Secretary-General Cahya H. Harefa said the results of the employee assessment were still sealed. The plan is to announce the results of this assessment soon as a form of transparency.

Furthermore, Cahya explained that the assessment of 1,349 KPK employees had been received by his party since April 27. Thousands of these employees participated in the assessment which is a requirement for the transfer of employee status as stipulated in Commission Regulation Number 1 of 2021 concerning Procedures for the Transfer of KPK Employees to ASN.

In addition, as a KPK institution, it must indeed transfer the status of employees because it is by the mandate of the revised KPK law.
