32 Roads Closed Due To Jakarta International Marathon, Pramono: Sunday, I'm Sure I Don't Disturb Traffic
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung believes that the 2025 Jakarta International Marathon (JAKIM) BTN will not interfere with road users even though there are 32 roads in Jakarta that will be closed due to the implementation.
This is because the annual marathon activity which was attended by tens of thousands of participants was held on weekends.
"We believe that it will not interfere with the overall traffic on that day in Jakarta, because on Sunday, yes," said Pramono after reviewing the Jakarta International Marathon Kartini Race Expo, South Jakarta, Thursday, June 26.
Pramono said, the Jakarta International Marathon is not the first time it will be held in the capital city. So, based on the experience of the previous year, the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency has prepared a traffic control scheme for roads affected by the closure.
"Indeed, I asked the Head of the Transportation Service to conduct simulations and simulations several times," said Pramono.
"Every big moment must have an influence. But we want this implementation to be really well done and to make good impressions for all participants in the Jakarta International Marathon. This is for us what is important," he added.
Continuing, the Race Director of the Jakarta International Marathon 2025 Satrio Guardian said that his party had also anticipated traffic adjustments for road users during the marathon, starting from installing barricades to providing information through Google Maps.
"We also have 7,000 officers on guard from start to finish. Regarding traffic diversion, don't bother, just open Google Maps. We have collaborated with Google Maps. So, it will be directed through routes that are not affected," said Satrio.
