Due To Weather Conditions, Prabowo Inaugurates A Virtual Increase Of 30 Thousand Barel Oil And Gas Blocks
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated an increase in oil production by 30 thousand barrels per day at the Banyu Urip Project, Cepu Block, Bojonegoro Regency, East Java, Thursday, June 26.
Because he was unable to attend directly due to weather conditions, President Prabowo also virtually inaugurated the increase in oil production in the Cepu Block along with the inauguration of geothermal power plants (PLTP) and solar power plants (PLTS) in 15 provinces centered at PLTP Ijen, Bondowoso, East Java.
"By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, this afternoon, Thursday, June 26, 2025, I Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, inaugurated the operation and development of renewable energy in 15 provinces and increased oil production by 30 thousand barrels of Cepu Block," President Prabowo said in a video conference from Bali, quoted by Antara via the Presidential Secretariat YouTube account.
The President assessed that the inauguration of the 30 thousand barrels of oil production increase per day in the Cepu Block is an important momentum as an effort to make the Indonesian people self-sufficient in energy.
In his remarks, the President appreciated the hard work of ministries/agencies, private companies from within and outside the country, as well as technicians and workers who were able to manage sophisticated and complex energy projects.
According to the Head of State, energy is an important sector in the sovereignty of a nation.
"We are grateful that we have extraordinary energy sources, renewable energy sources are with us, we just have to manage them well and today is proof of the ability of the Indonesian nation to lead to self-sufficiency in energy that is very decisive for our future," said the President.

The addition of 30 thousand barrels per day (BPH/BOPD) in Banyu Urip Infill Classic (BUIC) Block Cepu, managed by ExxonMobil Cepu Limited (EMCL) in Bojonegoro, East Java, accounts for 25 percent of the total national oil lifting.
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia said the project to increase oil production was carried out within 8 months, or 10 months earlier than the planning target.
With the addition of 30 thousand barrels per day taken from four new wells, the total production of the Cepu Block reaches 170 thousand to 180 thousand barrels per day.
He is also optimistic that Indonesia can achieve the energy self-sufficiency target by producing 900 thousand to 1 million barrels.
