Hasto Regarding 'Ok Sip': Just Reply To WA, Don't Know Substances
Secretary General of the PDI-P Hasto Kristiyanto explained the context of 'ok sip' in his communication with Saeful Bahri. The sentence is only a sign that he has received a WhatsApp message without knowing the substance.
This statement was made by Hasto Kristiyanto when he was examined as a defendant in the trial of the alleged bribery case for the replacement of the DPR for the 2019-2024 period and the obstruction of Harun Masiku's investigation.
It is known, Saeful Bahri always sent a WhatsApp message which said that he had met Harun Masiku and said goodbye to shifting from Sultan Syahrir. Then, Hasto replied to the message with the phrase 'ok sip'.
"Yes, I don't know (the intention of Saeful Bahri), that's why I answered 'ok sip' there. I didn't ask what the meeting was, what was the result. Because that's my standard answer," said Hasto during a trial at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Thursday, June 26.
Hasto also emphasized that he never knew about the meeting between Saeful Bahri and Harun Masiku. This is because the official order was given by the PDIP DPP to Donny Tri Istiqomah as the party's legal team.
Moreover, at that time, Hasto said that he was focusing on Focus Group Discussion (FGD) activities related to the largest National Working Meeting during that period.
Therefore, the 'ok sip' reply only indicates that Saeful Bahri's message has been received. But don't know the substance behind it.
"So if you want to interpret 'ok sip' it must be seen with my other 'ok sip' answer. Because it shows 'ok sip' is an answer I accept WA, but the substance is that I don't really pay attention, as a formal answer that I have received the WA," he said.
"This means that at that time the defendant's brother believed that Saeful Bahri had indeed reported to the defendant's brother that he had met Harun Masiku in SS?" asked the prosecutor.
"No, it's not like that. Because that is my answer in the midst of my busy life," replied Hasto.
In this case, Hasto together with advocate Donny Tri Istiqomah, former PDIP cadre Saeful Bahri, and Harun Masiku were charged with giving bribes of Rp 600 million to Wahyu Setiawan (KPU commissioner) in the 2019-2020 period.
This bribe is so that Wahyu seeks the KPU to approve the application of PAW for the South Sumatra Election Candidate (Sumsel) I on behalf of DPR members for the 2019-2024 period Riezky Aprilia to Harun Masiku.
Hasto was also charged with obstructing the investigation by ordering Harun, through the Aspiration House guard, Nur Hasan, to submerge Harun's cell phone into the water after the KPK OTT incident against Wahyu Setiawan.
Not only Harun Masiku's cellphone, Hasto is also said to have ordered his aide, Kusnadi, to drown his cell phone in anticipation of forced attempts by KPK investigators.
Hasto was charged with Article 21 and Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or Article 13 of Law (UU) Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended and supplemented by Law Number 20 of 2001 in conjunction with Article 65 paragraph (1) and Article 55 paragraph (1) 1 in conjunction with Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
