Islamic New Year's Long Holiday, KAI Records Train Tickets Capai 580,252 Seats
JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) noted the high enthusiasm of the community in welcoming the long holiday of the Islamic New Year 1 Muharam 1447 Hijri which falls on Friday, June 27.
This can be seen from the significant increase in the sales of long-distance train tickets (KAJJ) and local trains.
KAI Vice President Public Relations Anne Purba said KAJJ and Local Train ticket sales jumped during the travel period Thursday, June 26 to Sunday, June 29.
Anne said that based on temporary data as of Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at 14.30 WIB, the total ticket that had been sold reached 580,252 tickets or 87 percent of the total seat capacity provided, namely 664,789 seats.
We note that for the long holiday departure flow on Thursday, June 26, tomorrow, the occupancy is almost full. Ticket sales reached 164,931 or 99.7 percent of the capacity of 165,364 seats. This indicates the high enthusiasm of the public to travel by train during this holiday moment," he said in an official statement, Wednesday, June 25.
In detail, temporary daily occupancy data during the long holiday period of the Islamic New Year 1 Muharam 1447 Hijri, namely Thursday, June 26, 2025, totaling 164,931 tickets were sold from 165,364 seats, and occupancy reached 99.7 percent.
Then, on Friday, June 27, 2025, 144,688 tickets were sold from 165,932 seats, and 87 percent occupancy. Then, Saturday, June 28, 2025, 123,009 tickets were sold from 166,247 seats and 74 percent occupancy.
"Meanwhile, on Sunday, June 29, 2025, 147,624 tickets were sold from 167,246 seats, and 88 percent occupancy," he said.
Anne reminded people who want to take advantage of the long holiday of the Islamic New Year 1 Muharam 1447 Hijri by traveling by train to buy tickets through the official PT KAI channel.
"We urge people who want to travel to immediately plan trips and buy tickets through official channels such as the Access by KAI application and the booking.kai.id website," said Anne.
