Banten Asked To Be A Locomotive For Independent Food Programs

JAKARTA - In the midst of the complexity of rural development challenges, cross-sectoral synergy is the key to the success of village transformation.

The Banten High Prosecutor's Office together with local governments, universities, and the private sector officially launched a large-scale collaborative program.

In an event entitled Signing a Joint Memorandum of Understanding which was held in Sarakan Village, Sepatan District, Tangerang Regency, it aims to empower land and strengthen Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes).

This program is part of the national initiative of the Village Guard Prosecutor and the Mandiri Food Prosecutor initiated by Jamintel, with the aim of strengthening Village Fund governance, increasing transparency, and building an applied technology-based cultivation and land management system.

"Every rupiah from the Village Fund must be directly felt by the village community. We want to make sure farmers, as the backbone of the village, get real added value," said Reda Manthovanani.

Four districts in Banten Province were chosen as pilot projects for this program. The main consideration is Banten's position as the capital buffer and great potential in agriculture and horticulture.

In addition to owning large agricultural land, Banten also has a rapidly growing distribution ecosystem with the presence of a large number of main market and consumers.

With the support of Telkom University, PT Pupuk Indonesia, and PT Paskomnas Indonesia, this program will integrate the land area management system, horticultural cultivation, to sustainable distribution and marketing.

The Real-Time Monitoring Village Management Funding or Village Guard system will also be implemented to oversee the use of Village Funds in an accountable manner.

BUMDes is encouraged to become a driving force for the village economy through professional managerial training, technology transfer, and productive land management.

Through this approach, the village community is not only a producer, but also a major player in the national food supply chain. This activity is not only about increasing agricultural products, but building a system that ensures the sustainability of village businesses.

Farmers should no longer be trapped in price and market uncertainty.

This step emphasizes that village development is not only the responsibility of the government.

With a solid collaboration between prosecutors, local governments, the world of education, and industry, a big vision to create an independent, resilient, and prosperous village can really be realized.
