BRIN And Pakuan Bogor University Will Strengthen IoMT Technology For Digital Health Innovation

JAKARTA The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) announced the latest partnership with Pakuan Bogor University. Through this collaboration, the two of them will develop the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT).

The Telecommunications Research Center from BRIN will specifically collaborate with students from the university's engineering faculty. The institute says that this collaboration can support digital transformation in the health sector.

"IoMT technology opens up great opportunities in the transformation of health services by integrating medical devices and digital networks for real-time health data monitoring and analysis," said Nasrullah Armi, Head of the BRIN Telecommunications Research Center, quoted on Wednesday, June 25.

In addition to encouraging digital transformation in the health sector, BRIN also wants to strengthen the research and innovation ecosystem through this collaboration. The hope is that higher education research institutions and institutions can produce the right technological solutions.

"This collaboration is expected to produce concrete solutions that can accelerate the development of a technology-based health service system in Indonesia," added Nasrullah.

Although IoMT is considered the key in improving quality and efficiency in health services, there are several challenges that need to be overcome. These challenges concern regulation, data ethics, and readiness of human resources.

To overcome the last challenge, namely the human ability, BRIN held special training and seminars for Pakuan University Bogor students. Students at engineering faculty can also take advantage of laboratory facilities and research results from BRIN.

BRIN will also assist students in working on their final task project and provide internship programs outside the Merdeka Campus Learning Meredeka program (MBKM). That way, students can improve their skills.
