Weather Today: Thick Cloudy And Light Rain Dominate The Provincial Capital
JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that thick cloudy weather will cover most areas of the provincial capital in Indonesia on Wednesday, June 25.
BMKG forecaster Raeni Cindi said, starting from Sumatra Island, the weather is predicted to be cloudy for Pekanbaru City and thick cloudy for Banda Aceh City, Medan, and Padang.
"The city of Tanjung Pinang is forecast for light rain," said Raeni, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday morning.
Still on the island of Sumatra, the weather is predicted to be thick cloudy for the areas of Bengkulu, Jambi, Palembang, Pangkal Pinang, and Bandar Lampung.
Turning to Java, the weather is predicted to be thick cloudy throughout the region, namely Serang, Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya.
Moving to the areas of Bali and Nusa Tenggara, the weather is predicted to be cloudy for Kupang City, while Denpasar and Mataram are forecasted to rain with light intensity.
Furthermore, shifting to Kalimantan Island, the weather is predicted to be thick cloudy for Pontianak City, while light rain has the potential to flush Palangkaraya and Samarinda cities.
"Be aware of rain that can be accompanied by lightning in the Tanjung Selor and Banjarmasin areas," he said.
Then for Sulawesi Island, the weather is forecasted to run away in Palu City, thick cloudy in Gorontalo City, and light rain in Manado, Kendari, and Makassar areas.
"The city of Mamuju is forecasted to rain with moderate intensity," he said.
Moving to Eastern Indonesia, the weather is predicted to be thick cloudy for the City of Manokwari, while the areas of Ternate, Ambon, Sorong, Nabire, Jayapura, and Jayawijaya are forecasted to rain with light intensity.
"Be aware of rain that can be accompanied by lightning in the Merauke area," said Raeni.
BMKG also reminded the potential sea level of 2.5-4 meters in the West Indian Ocean from Aceh to Lampung and the South Indian Ocean from Java Island.

The public is also asked to be aware of the potential for tidal flooding on the North Sumatra Coast, Riau Islands, West Sumatra, Jambi, Bangka Belitung, Lampung, Banten, Jakarta, West Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Maluku, and South Papua.
In addition, the maximum temperature is predicted to reach 33 degrees Celsius and can occur in Denpasar and Samarinda, so people who are active outdoors are asked to always wear sunscreen or protection from sunlight.
