Google Announces New AI Feature Series For Chromebook Plus
JAKARTA - Google has announced various new AI-powered features for Chromebook Plus which will be directly integrated into the Chrome OS operating system. The features announced include Select to search with Lens, Text capture, Quick Insert, and the Simplify button to make reading easier.
Meanwhile, Lenovo's Chromebook Plus 14 gets two exclusive features, namely Smart Grouping and AI Image Editing in the Gallery application.
Google continues to innovate in AI technology competition, this time not on Android, but by bringing these features to Chromebook Plus. For those of you who have Chromebook Plus, be prepared because a series of new AI features will be coming soon, plus two exclusive additional features for Lenovo's Chromebook Plus 14.
One of the main features is Select to search with Lens, Chromebook version of the Circle to Search feature on Android. This feature allows users to get information from anything that appears on the Chromebook screen. Users can activate this feature by pressing the launch button for a long time or using a screenshot tool. Once enabled, simply select the object on the screen to search for the information.
In addition, there is a Text Capture feature that allows users to copy text directly from images. For example, if you find a handwritten recipe image, the user can directly extract the text without having to retype. This feature also allows you to highlight the event and immediately add it to Google Calendar.

For users who want to quickly insert images or emojis in documents or presentations, a Quick Insert feature is available. Then there is a Simplify button added to Google's Help Me Read feature. Previously, this feature could only summarize text lengths. Now, the Simplify button allows users to break complex sentences to make it easier to understand.
Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 gets two additional features: Smart Group and AI Image Editing. Smart Group automatically grouped tabs and documents into logical groups. While AI Image Editing allows users to edit photos directly from the image library on the device.
