The Indonesian Ombudsman Selection Committee 2026 Officially Formed, This Is Its Composition And Duties
The government has officially formed the Selection Committee (Pansel) for Candidates for Ombudsman Members of the Republic of Indonesia (ORI) for the 2026 2031 Term of Office through Presidential Decree (Keppres) Number 57/P of 2025. The formation of this pandemic marks the government's serious commitment to realizing independent, professional, and accountable public service supervision.
This step was taken before the end of the term of office of the Indonesian Ombudsman for the 2021 period of 2026 which will expire on February 22, 2026. With the formation of the Pansel, the selection process for new members of the Indonesian Ombudsman will run according to the principles of good governance.
Deputy Minister of State Secretary Juri Ardiantoro emphasized that the formation of the Pansel is proof of the government's seriousness in maintaining the quality of strategic state institutions such as the Ombudsman.
The selection process is not only administrative, but also reflects commitment to transparency, professionalism, and integrity. The composition of the South Korean Panel comes from elements of government, academics, and credible civil society," said Juri.

Based on the Presidential Decree, the Selection Committee has six main tasks, namely:
The selection is carried out in accordance with Presidential Decree No. 148 of 2024 and Permensesneg No. 11 of 2024, as well as coordinated by the Ministry of State Secretariat with technical support from the Administrative Bureau of State Officials.
Public Participation And Inclusiveness Become Highlights
The Deputy Minister of Jury emphasized the importance of transparency, inclusiveness, and public participation in the selection process.
"We encourage public trials of candidates, as well as community involvement to provide input. The selection criteria must be based on competence, track record, and integrity," he said.
In addition, the diversity of backgrounds, both from gender, regional, and professional aspects, is considered important so that the Indonesian Ombudsman is more representative of the needs of all levels of society.

The cost of carrying out the task of the Pansel is borne by the State Budget through the Ministry of State Secretariat, while technical implementation is handled by the relevant agencies.
