Short Driving Impression Of Chery C5 That Will Launch: Better Than Omoda 5?

JAKARTA - PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) introduced the Chery C5 which will launch in Indonesia on Wednesday, June 25 tomorrow. This car is a refresher version of the previous model, Omoda 5.

This model comes with a number of changes in the exterior that emphasize the impression of sporty and have a classy touch that is stylish to perform better than before.

Ahead of its launch, PT CSI invited media crews, including VOI, to try out this latest line in the "Exclusive First Impression Chery C5" session to take place at BSD City, Tangerang.

Before discussing driving impressions, let's take a look at the latest exterior on this car. Carrying the philosophy of "The Futuristic Reborn", the change in Chery C5 is that the front display is more stylish but without reducing the strong impression bygrill adopting a pattern called frameless diamond.

Next, this compact body SUV also has an LED arrow-shaped light that highlights the sophisticated and modern impressions of urban cars. The side has a strong and elegant impression with the embedding of the Sports Black Alloy Wheels with a luxurious look.

The car also has an X-shaped Spice with New Body-colored Grille confirming the sporty DNA of a Crossover SUV.

Interior Is More Comfortable

Changes are also seen in the interior that embeds more premium memorable materials, including a Faux leather coated seat and the presence of a digital screen of 10.25 inches of HD is more intuitive.

In order to add comfort, the Chery C5 is also equipped with an 8-speaker audio system from Sony and the presence of an electric sunset that creates a pleasant impression while on the way.

Another novelty in this car is that the SUV has PM0.3 ultra-efficient air conditioning filters. It works in filtering microparticles and viruses, while the Dual-zone Automatic AC allows individual temperature settings.

Performance And Stability Of Driving

Another latest thing in this car is the introduction of a dual-clutch six acceleration transmission, which helps the performance of the 1.5 liter 4-cylinder TCI engine provide 145 hp and 230 Nm torque personnel.

Thanks to DCT's transmission, this car has a better power boost than ever. But when the car was stepped on the gas pedal instantly, the power response was slightly slower for a fraction of a second.

Not only in power, the suspension of this car also underwent an overhaul with the use of the MacPherson suspension in front and Multi-link in the back.

In collaboration with the T1X Platform, this car has better suspension damping than before when passing through sleeping police, potholes, and bumpy areas.

Color Selection

PT CSI will reveal the price of the Chery C5 on Wednesday and will be offered in two different variants, namely Z and RZ.

Variant Z offers a choice of color Black Platinum and White Economyite. Meanwhile, RZ types have more varied options such as Red Ruby, Black Platinum, White Economyite, and Dual Tone White Economyite + Black.
