IRGC Commander Warns US Will Receive A Tougher Response If It Attacks Iran Again

JAKARTA - The United States will receive a tougher response if it attacks Iran again, said Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Supreme Commander Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour.

Earlier, Iran responded to the US attack on its nuclear facilities by "mission" before attacking Washington military facilities in Qatar.

"We warn the American president who has robbed the interests and security of the American people for the survival of the evil Zionist regime, if he repeats aggression against Iran, he will accept a tougher and regrettable response that will be a lesson for history," Brigadier General Pakpour said, quoted from Mehr June 24.

Israel launched airstrikes in the "Raising Lion" operation on June 13 which it claimed targeted Iranian nuclear and military facilities. Tehran responded to that by launching attacks on a number of targets in Israeli cities.

On June 21, the United States launched a "Midnight Hammer" operation on the targets of Iran's nuclear facilities in Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan. Iran responded to that by attacking US military bases in the Middle East.

Late Monday, the Iranian Armed Forces launched airstrikes targeting the US-owned Al-Udeid airbase in Qatar in the "Promise of Victory" operation.

Iran reportedly gave an initial notification to the US via diplomatic channels hours before the attack, including to Qatari authorities, as quoted by Reuters.

US President Donald Trump sees Iran's actions as positive.

"I want to thank Iran for giving us an early notification, allowing no lives to be lost, and no one to be injured," President Trump wrote on his Truth social media website.

Iran's response to the attack reminded the previous clashes with the United States and Israel, with Tehran seeking a balance between saving face with a military response, but without triggering an escalation cycle it cannot bear.
