KAI Regarding The Use Of Stopcontacts On Trains: Only For Gadgets, Not Hair Catokan

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI reminds customers to use stop contacts on trains according to their designation, namely to charge devices such as cellphones, tablets, or laptops.

KAI Vice President Public Relations Anne Purba emphasized that stop contact on trains is not designed for household electronic devices such as rice cookers, portable fans, or hair straighteners.

"In addition to disturbing the comfort of other passengers, this inappropriate use has the potential to disrupt the train electricity system," he said in an official statement, Monday, June 23.

Anne said this appeal was conveyed following the hectic discussion on social media regarding the use of stop contacts on trains for non-gadget devices.

In several uploads, continued Anne, passengers can be seen plugging in a mini-RICe cooker, to a private hanging fan installed on a chair.

Anne emphasized that the simultaneous use of large-power tools can burden the electricity system and endanger the comfort and safety of travel.

If the customer experiences technical problems such as an air conditioner that is not optimal, please immediately contact the conductor. The telephone number of the conductor is on the wall of each train," he explained.

On the other hand, the 30 percent discount tariff promo for commercial economy class trains continues to receive high enthusiasm from the public.

As of June 23, 2025 at 10.00 WIB, KAI noted that 1,410,480 tickets had been sold out of a total of 3,529,612 seats provided, equivalent to 40 percent filled capacity.

Anne bilang, promo ini berlaku untuk jadwal perjalanan hingga 31 Juli 2025 dan dapat dipesan melalui aplikasi Access by KAI maupun laman booking.kai.id.

Anne said this promo applies to travel schedules until July 31, 2025 and can be ordered through the Access by KAI application or the booking.kai.id page.
