Meeting Iran's Foreign Minister, Putin Condemns US Attack On Iran
JAKARTA - Russian President Vladimir Putin told Iranian Foreign Minister there is no justification for the US bombing of his country. Moscow tries to help the Iranian people.
Putin hosted Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Moscow two days after US President Donald Trump sent US bombers to attack Iran's three main nuclear sites.
"Aggression that is completely groundless towards Iran has no basis and justification. We are trying to help the Iranian people," Putin told Aragghchi as reported by Reuters, Monday, June 23.
"I'm very happy you're in Moscow today, this will give us the opportunity to discuss all these urgent issues and think together about how we can get out of the current situation," Putin said.
Araghchi told Putin Iran to carry out a legitimate self-defense, and thanked Russia for condemning US actions.

He expressed his best wishes to Putin from the supreme leader and president of Iran.
"Russia is currently on the right side of history and international law," said Araghchi.
However, it is unclear what Russia might do to support Iran, an important ally who signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Putin in January. The agreement does not include a joint defense clause.
