Getting To Know B-2 Spirit: The American Advanced Aircraft Used To Attack Iran

YOGYAKARTA The B-2 Spirit aircraft is now in the public spotlight after the US used the B-2 Spirit to transport bunker destroyer bombs in an attack on Iran on Saturday, June 21. The sophisticated aircraft was deliberately deployed to destroy nuclear facilities owned by Iran. The public itself recognizes B-2 Spirit as America's most advanced boomer aircraft.

B-2 Spirit is a booming aircraft created by the world arms manufacturing company, Northrop Grumman. The company provides these fighters with various advanced technologies with astonishing capabilities. No wonder B-2 Spirit is known as a booster aircraft for all enemy air defenses.

B-2 was originally used in the 1999 Kosovo War. Since then this vehicle has continued to be involved in various American military operations.

The B-2 Spirit aircraft has a length of 21 meters with a wingspan of approximately 52 meters. With this size, this aircraft is capable of carrying weapons both conventional and nuclear. The weapon armed by this aircraft is a bunker destroyer bomb, namely the GBU-57A/B Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP) which weighs up to 13.6 tons. Although the arms load is quite heavy, B2 is able to cover a distance of 11,000 km to refill fuel.

Apart from having sophisticated weapons, this aerial vehicle also has stealth capabilities. This happens because the B2 aircraft has a very low radar signature so that the opponent's radar and air defenses will find it difficult to track.
