Indonesia Wins Two Titles At ITF W50 In China

JAKARTA Indonesia is confirmed to bring home two titles from the ITF W50 Taizhou event in China after Janice Tjen participated in presenting the women's singles-number trophy.

The Indonesian mainstay tennis player who became the third seed rose to the top of the highest podium after winning against the host's representative, Yidi Yang, with a score of 7-5 and 6-3 on Sunday, June 22, 2025.

"It's a nice week. It's really beyond expectations to be able to back-to-back single and double titles in China," Janice said in a statement received.

This achievement will boost the 23-year-old tennis player's ranking to around 210 in the world as of Monday, June 23, 2025. This achievement is already at a safe point to pass the 2025 US Open Grand Slam qualification.

So far, the player of the Month ITF title winner for May 2025 has collected five singles and three double titles.

Next week, Janice will complete the Asian Tour at the ITF W35 Taipei. After that, he will head home in Europe.

"Wait, yes, I want it to reach the WTA Tour as soon as possible," said Janice.

Janice started her journey at ITF W50 Taizhou by defeating Russian tennis player, Kira Pavlova, in the first round. He then beat Chinese tennis player Jiangxue Han in the second round.

In the quarter-finals, Janice defeated Japanese athlete, Saki Imamura. His journey continued smoothly in the semifinals when he met Hong Kong tennis player Eudice Chong.

The day before, Janice also wrapped up the ITF World Tennis Tour series double title with her compatriot, Priska Madelyn Nugroho.
