Often Fails And Explodes, SpaceX Is Increasingly Intensive In Launching Starship

JAKARTA The spirit of SpaceX in delivering humans into space can be seen from the development of the giant Starship rocket. This rocket is expected to take humans to the Moon or to Mars.

However, SpaceX's obsession doesn't seem to go well as Starship's trials often fail, even until its last test flight. Throughout the year alone, SpaceX has failed to launch Starship three times.

The launch of Starship was first carried out in 2018 with a total of two flights. During this initial trial, SpaceX has not faced many problems. At that time, Starship was still rolling out with a low-altitude target.

However, at the next few launches, Starship suffered many failures in various ways. With a total of nine overall launches, only three test flights were overall successful.

This means that there are no obstacles both at the launch and at the landing. The rocket booster also managed to return perfectly. However, the total failure was far more numerous. The rocket failed a total of four times and failed in part twice.

In the last test flight held on June 19, 2025, Starship failed to land perfectly because it exploded. This rocket had no problems when it launched, but one of its engines died suddenly when it wanted to enter the atmosphere.

This caused the rocket to lose control. Shortly after, the Starship was destroyed after entering the atmosphere and exploded over the Indian Ocean. There were no casualties from this failure.

This failure has led to many doubts about whether Elon Musk will successfully launch humans using the rocket. However, it seems that the SpaceX owner is still optimistic about Starship's success in the future.

Instead of focusing on in-depth Starship repairs, Musk is targeting more rocket launches this year. If previously Starship's flight distance could be a few months, SpaceX would like to launch the rocket every 3 to 4 weeks.
