Bank Jakarta Ready To Go To The Stock Exchange, Pramono: Professionalism Is The Key
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung targets PT Bank DKI, which now has a new branding as Bank Jakarta, to be listed on the stock exchange or conduct an initial public offering (IPO) next year.
"I personally and Bang Dul (Deputy Governor of Jakarta Rano Karno) have very high hopes for Bank Jakarta to become a professional bank, a bank that is truly trusted by the public. The main task of the directors and ranks of Bank Jakarta is to prepare for the IPO next year," Pramono said, quoted Monday, June 23.
Pramono assessed that Bank Jakarta could start offering its initial shares to the public if banks were managed professionally. He emphasized the importance of public supervision of state-owned banks so that transparency is maintained and the IPO target is met.
"Bank Jakarta must be able to as soon as possible. I'm sure Bank Jakarta can. The keywords remain professionalism and the people who manage it," said Pramono.
In addition, Pramono hopes that Bank Jakarta will not only be the pride of Jakarta, but also be able to compete globally.
"I want Bank Jakarta to become a professional bank and make Jakarta residents proud, and can advance to class," he said.
In heading to the IPO in 2025, PT Bank DKI will run a long-term road map in the form of rebranding. This rebranding is also part of a strategic step in preparing the implementation of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 2 of 2024 concerning the Province of the Special Region of Jakarta.
President Director of PT Bank DKI Agus H. Widodo explained that this rebranding is not just a visual change, but reflects the ongoing comprehensive transformation within Bank DKI, which includes strengthening governance, risk management, and professional work culture.
Then, accelerate digital transformation and integrate ecosystem-based services. Then, modernize IT infrastructure and increase cyber security. Furthermore, the participation of intermediation functions, credit productivity, as well as the acquisition of low-cost funds in a sustainable manner.
"We want the people of Jakarta to feel that this change is not cosmetic, but reflects an in-depth commitment to becoming a strong bank financially, healthy in governance, and a real presence in people's lives," said Agus.
Meanwhile, the use of the new name "Jakarta" from the bank owned by the DKI Provincial Government was chosen because it is a simple and universal name, easy to understand and position Jakarta equivalent to world financial cities.
In addition to call names, Bank Jakarta also has a new logo that still displays the essence of the National Monument (Monas), but with a more modern visual approach, namely three diagonal lines without a dividing circle.
