Jakarta Wet On Its 498th Anniversary: Rain All Day Since Morning

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that all areas of DKI Jakarta will experience rain from morning to evening, Monday, June 23, 2025.

Information conveyed through the BMKG's official Instagram account and quoted by ANTARA in Jakarta, states that in the morning, five of the six areas in DKI are expected to experience light rain.

These areas include West Jakarta, East Jakarta, Central Jakarta, North Jakarta, and the Thousand Islands Regency. Meanwhile, South Jakarta is only expected to be thick cloudy.

Entering the day, the weather tends to be more stable with thick cloudy skies in almost all areas of Jakarta, except for the Thousand Islands Regency which is predicted to continue to experience light rain.

By late afternoon, all areas of DKI Jakarta are forecasted to experience light rain again, while the Thousand Islands are experiencing thick cloudy weather.

At night, cloudy skies are expected to blanket the entire region of the capital, which has just celebrated its 498th birthday.

BMKG also noted that light rain had an intensity of less than 2.5 mm per hour, while rain was carrying rain between 5 and 10 mm per hour.

The air temperature in Jakarta on the same day is estimated to be in the range of 23'28 degrees Celsius, with an average wind speed of 7 kilometers per hour. Especially for the Thousand Islands Regency area, wind speed is predicted to reach 22 kilometers per hour.
