New Honor Magic V5 Poster Reveals Behind Camera Design And 8.8mm Super Thin Thickness
JAKARTA - Honor is ready to bring innovation in the world of folding phones by launching the Honor Magic V5. Previously, Honor was known for Magic V3 which is the thinest foldable phone in the world with a thickness of 9.3mm when folded and 4.35mm when it opens. However, this year competitors such as Oppo Find N5 appeared with thinner thickness, which was 8.9mm when folded and 4.2mm when it opened.
Now, Honor's latest leak through a poster that appears on Weibo confirms that Magic V5 will get rid of Oppo Find N5 as the world's thinest foldable phone with a thickness of just 8.8mm in a folded position.
In addition to the announcement of thickness, the poster also features a Magic V5 rear camera module design. The main camera is expected to use a 50-megapixel sensor, equipped with an ultra-wide lens and a telephoto periscope camera with a fantastic resolution of 200 megapixels. The combination of this camera promises a very superior photo and zoom quality in the folding class of phones.
In terms of weight, Magic V5 is reported to have a weight below 219 grams, competing closely with the Vivo X Fold 5 which is also rumored to have a weight less than that figure. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 which will also be released in the near future is predicted to have a thickness of 4.54mm when it opens, and is estimated to be less than 9mm when folded. However, the Z Fold 7 will carry the smallest battery capacity in its class, namely 4.400mAh, following its precursor series.

Unlike that, Magic V5 will be the largest foldable phone with batteries among its competitors, which has a capacity of 6,100mAh with 66W fast charging support. While there has been no official confirmation of wireless charging capabilities, rumors say Magic V5 is likely to support 50W wireless charging like previous generations.
With all these advanced features and specifications, the competition for foldable phones in the market will be even tighter, especially considering that the Vivo X Fold 5 and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 will also launch in the near future, namely in July. For the Honor Magic V5 itself, the official launch is scheduled for July 2 in China.
This launch will determine who will hold the title of the world's thinest and lightest foldable phone, as well as who will offer the biggest battery and the best camera feature in this growing segment.
