The Philosophy Behind Bank Jakarta's New Call Name and Logo

JAKARTA - Bank DKI introduced a new logo and the name Bank Jakarta as a new call name or trademark.

DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung explained that the change in the call name is a form of preparation for the implementation of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 2 of 2024 concerning the Special Region of Jakarta Province.

The selection of this new call name is the aspiration of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government as the Controlling Shareholder to maintain the identity of Jakarta in the Bank owned by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.

The Jakarta call name was chosen because it is a simple and universal name, easy to understand and at the same time positions Jakarta on a par with world financial cities.

This is also evident in the visual identity which maintains the icon of the national monument symbolized by three diagonal lines without a boundary circle.

"The new logo resembles the Monas flame rising freely into the sky, symbolizing Jakarta's aspirations that are not limited by space and time towards the global stage," said Pramono.

Meanwhile, for the selection of colors, Pramono made changes from red to orange-red based on considerations that are closer to Jakarta's identity and Betawi culture.

The orange-red color is expected to reflect the creative energy and optimism of Jakarta, with the black color expected to provide a foundation for institutional trust.

Meanwhile, Bank DKI President Director Agus H Widodo said that the selection of the moment to launch Bank DKI's new identity to coincide with the 498th anniversary of the city of Jakarta aims to convey a strong message that Bank DKI's transformation is part of Jakarta's major transformation towards an inclusive, modern, and highly competitive global city.

"We chose today (June 22, 2025) so that Bank DKI's spirit of change is directly correlated with the spirit of change in Jakarta itself," said Agus.

He said that the selection of Blok M Literacy Park as the location for the launch of Bank DKI's new identity was also not a coincidence.

In addition to functioning as a green open space, the Literacy Park is a symbol of knowledge, learning, and the rise of creativity in the city's people.

This, he continued, is in line with Bank DKI's new commitment to open a new chapter, become a financially strong bank, and play a role in educating, empowering, and inspiring the people of Jakarta.

"In this place (Literacy Park), we want to convey that our changes are not just cosmetic—but substantive, profound, and rooted in a social mission and public responsibility," said Agus.

Meanwhile, PT Bank DKI Corporate Secretary Arie Rinaldi explained that the use of the new call name and logo "Bank Jakarta" will be implemented gradually.

During the transition period, he continued, it will still be used together with the previous identity.

All legal relationships with customers and partners continue to run normally and have not changed.

Arie appealed to the public to be careful of fraudulent attempts in the name of Bank DKI's identity changes, and to ensure that all official information is only obtained through the bank's official channels and Call Center 1500 351.
