The Name Bank Jakarta Becomes A New Bank DKI Trademark, Here's The Philosophy

JAKARTA - Jakarta's 498th Birthday is a momentum to introduce a new logo and the name Bank Jakarta as a call name or new trademark from PT Bank DKI.

This was conveyed by the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung during the inauguration of the new call name and logo of Bank DKI which took place at the Christina Marta Tiahahu Literacy Park in Jakarta, Sunday. June 22. This change in call name is a form of preparation for the implementation of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 2 of 2024 concerning the Province of the Special Region of Jakarta.

The selection of this new call name is the aspiration of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government as a Controlling Shareholder to defend Jakarta's identity at a Bank owned by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. Call name Jakarta was chosen because it is a simple and universal name, easy to understand and position Jakarta on par with the world financial cities. This is also evident in the visual identity that maintains the national monument icon which is symbolized in three diagonal lines without a limiting circle.

"The new logo resembles a Monas fire that toweres freely into the sky, symbolizing Jakarta's unlimited aspirations of space and time towards the global stage," said Pramono.

As for the color selection, Pramono made changes from red to orange, based on closer considerations with Jakarta's identity and Betawi culture. The orange red color is expected to reflect Jakarta's creative energy and optimism, with black expected to provide the foundation of institutional trust.

On the same occasion, the President Director of Bank DKI, Agus H Widodo, said that the election for the moment of the launch of Bank DKI's new identity coincided with the 498th anniversary of the city of Jakarta aimed at conveying a strong message that Bank DKI's transformation was part of Jakarta's major transformation towards an inclusive, modern, and highly competitive global city.

"We chose today (June 22, 2025) so that the spirit of Bank DKI's change can be directly correlated with the spirit of change in Jakarta itself," said Agus.

He also conveyed that the selection of Blok M Literacy Park as the location for the launch of Bank DKI's new identity was also not a coincidence. According to him, the Literacy Park, apart from functioning as a green open space, is also a symbol of the knowledge, learning, and revival of the creativity of the city community.

Agus said this was in line with Bank DKI's new commitment to open a new sheet, become a strong bank financially, and play a role in educating, empowering, and inspiring the people of Jakarta.

"In this place (Literacy Park), we want to convey that our changes are not just cosmetics but substantive, in-depth, and rooted in social missions and public responsibility," said Agus.

PT Bank DKI Corporate Secretary, Arie Rinaldi, explained that the use of the new call name and logo 'Bank Jakarta' will be implemented in stages, and in a transition period it will still be used together with previous identities. All legal relations with customers and partners continue to run normally and have not changed.

Arie also appealed to the public to be careful of fraudulent attempts on behalf of changes to the identity of Bank DKI, and ensure that all official information is only obtained through the bank's official channel and Call Center 1500 351.
