Bali's Culture Is Maintained And Maintained, So A National Example In Preservation Of Heritage
JAKARTA - The preservation of Balinese culture has proven to be going well and consistently. The legacy of ancestors who were maintained with dedication made Bali not only a tourist destination, but also a symbol of the cultural power of the archipelago which should be used as a role model for other regions throughout Indonesia.
This was conveyed by the Minister of Culture Fadli Zon when officially opening the 47th Bali Arts Festival (PKB) on the Island of the Gods, Saturday, June 21, representing President Prabowo Subianto. In his statement, Fadli highlighted the importance of maintaining the cultural and artistic ecosystem as has been done by the Balinese people for almost five decades.
"Bali has proven that cultural heritage can be preserved properly. This is a concrete example that local wisdom can be maintained without losing its relevance to the times," he said in a written statement received in Jakarta, Sunday, June 22.
Fadli said PKB is a tangible manifestation of the rich tradition that reflects the cultural identity of nine regencies/cities in Bali. He appreciated the sustainability of this event which has been running for 47 years without stopping.
The opening ceremony of the 47th PKB was marked by the release of the Ped Aya cultural parade, in which Minister Fadli Zon hit the qualkul as a sign of the start of the celebration. He was accompanied by Deputy Minister of Tourism Ni Luh Puspa, Governor of Bali I Wayan Koster, Deputy Governor I Nyoman Giri Prasta, and Chairman of the Bali DPRD Dewa Made Mahayadnya.
Culkul booms were greeted by traditional gamelan strains such as Gong Gede, Semar Pegulingan, and Gong Guwung Gumi who accompanied the opening show entitled Muchra Citta Siwa Nataraja, the work of the Indonesian Art Institute (ISI) Bali. This dance symbolizes the god of Siwa as the regulator of the universe through cosmic motion that blends with the rhythm of nature.

In his remarks, Fadli also conveyed greetings from President Prabowo who was unable to attend because he attended a foreign conference. He hopes that next year the President can directly open the 48th PKB personally.
"Hopefully the implementation of PKB in the future will be more lively, and able to inspire other regions to help build a strong and sustainable cultural ecosystem," concluded Fadli.
