The King's First Episode: Eternal Monarch Achieves The Highest Rating
JAKARTA - Lee Min Ho's latest drama, The King: Eternal Monarch aired its first episode on Friday, April 17 via the SBS television channel. This debut episode was greeted with enthusiasm, as seen from the large number of ratings it achieved.
Quoting from Soompi, Saturday, this fantasy genre drama won 10.1 percent for the first part and 11.4 percent for the second part. The King: Eternal Monarch managed to occupy the first position for the first episode drama broadcast rating on Friday and Saturday beating The Fiery Priest, Vagabond, and Hyena which aired at the same time.
Many factors make The King: Eternal Monarch in great demand. Lee Min Ho's figure as a popular South Korean actor makes his latest project always listened to, especially since this is his latest drama after serving his mandatory military service.
In addition, this drama was written by Kim Eun Sook, a best-selling playwright who is known for his shrewdness in composing stories. The King: Eternal Monarch marks Eun Sook's return to writing drama for the SBS television channel after last doing it for The Heirs in 2013 starring Lee Min Ho.
This drama is also Eun Sook's second meeting with Kim Go Eun after working on Goblin in 2016. Given that both of them have played for similar genre dramas, there's no need to doubt their acting skills in The King: Eternal Monarch.
